Stirling has been a Partner at Clyde & Co since 1983 and is the Co Head of the Latin American team. He is currently based in our Brazil office.

He speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese and travels very frequently to a number of different countries in Latin America.

He works extensively in the areas of oil and gas, energy, shipping and offshore, and insurance. He particularly provides consultative advice on international contracts and also has considerable experience in the area of dispute resolution.

Stirling has very extensive knowledge generally of Brazil and Latin America and often works closely with Brazilian and other Latin lawyers on a range of subjects.

Experience

• Regularly works for several Latin America trade and commodity companies
• Advising on very large Floating LNG project involving Brazil
• US$2billion AAA Brazilian energy arbitration in New York
• Numerous advices in relation to different areas of oil and gas and other commodities involving Latin America
• Acting for a number of marine (including traders charterers, owners) offshore and insurance clients
• Responsible for procuring advice on inward investment in Latin America
